At Loxley Lodge Care Home, every Service User is respected and treated as an individual. All of our residents have their own personal care plan which is tailored to their specific care needs. We encourage our carers and the families of residents to be creative in developing new ideas to enhance the lives of our Service Users. We monitor each care plan to ensure it is still sufficient and is constantly being adhered to.
Loxley Lodge carers enjoy spending time with and learning each resident’s life history. The more we know about a resident, the more we can relate to their character and understand their behaviour. This in turn helps us to work more closely with a resident, helping them to overcome their frustrations at sometimes not being able to express themselves as they would wish.
People with dementia need more care and understanding. At Loxley Lodge Care Home, we recognise this and our carers pride themselves on being experts in delivering this type of specialised care.
Good quality food and three staple meals a day are the cornerstones of daily life in Loxley Lodge Care Home. We have a kitchen team led by a qualified cook or chef who focuses on nutritious and balanced meals, freshly made and drawing on seasonal ingredients where possible. Whether it's a home-made pie or a fresh fruit sponge, we aim to provide a quality menu with a range of choices for all our residents, and we dress the dining areas each meal for this important part of the day.
We receive weekly visits from a hairdresser, encouraging our residents to make an appointment in the main office. If a Service User has their own hairdresser, they are welcome to arrange for them to do their hair in the privacy of their own room at any time.
A full laundry service is provided on site; with dry cleaning arranged at the Service User’s expense.
Any visits by medical or healthcare staff are conducted in the privacy of the Service User’s own room. Loxley Lodge also benefits from regular visits by an optician and a chiropodist.
We always support Service Users in keeping and administering their own medication wherever possible (if they want to), usually getting their medication in compartmentalised trays from the pharmacist. When a resident cannot manage their own medication, or where they would prefer it to be managed for them, their medication will be held by the home and administered by our carers.
Respite care and day care are also available at Loxley Lodge Care Home.
Working closely with a number of community-based healthcare professionals, Loxley Lodge Care Home provides access to District Nurses, General Practitioners, Dentists, Opticians, Occupational and Speech Therapists.
